Abstract

|
|
The oblique paraspinal approach is one of the safest and most effective surgical options for the treatment of intracanalicular disc herniations of the upper lumbar and thoracolumbar junction. The authors present a case of T12-L1 disc herniation that was treated using this approach. Through this approach, we can achieve significant symptom improvement with minimal invasion of normal structures and neural retraction. This approach can be a viable alternative treatment option, especially for paramedian soft disc herniations located at the thoracolumbar spine.
